This is the future of health care technology and database networking, and it is being implemented by most major health care communities. My father has been devoting his life over these past two years to get something like this out in all them major health systems in IL. Check it out.

Their goal is as you described, with a secure, online database of records and vitals that is doctor-accessible through blackberry (which all doctors, even older ones, are required to have and be trained on how to use) or computer (and there are computers installed at every bed).   And the people who staff the IT teams ARE programmers and young, computer savvy people alike, providing an individualized model for each department in the hospital system that is transferable anywhere that uses a similar program.  My older sister is one of those people, and they are very-well trained to handle situations that come up.  And trust me, she is not one of those &quot;flower-turtle-necked-middle-aged-women.&quot;

Believe it or not, IT in health care is making major strides right now. Its just happening at a more local and statewide level.</description>
