My Personal Vision

I think I first wrote this in 2002 while sitting on cement steps in northwest Chicago, cold and faithless.  It’s helped me a more than a few times since.

To know the heart of God.
To have mine match.

To see other people as the most holy thing in my day to day life.
To give and love so they can tell.

To realize the consequence of my self-love.
To love others boldly without fear of consequence.

To remember where I’ve been saved from.
To look ahead to my future.

To smile.

To learn and reason.
To enjoy and rest.

To visualize life as a moment by moment God-given adventure.
To live more than I visualize.

To wonder.

To build a character of faithfulness and order.
To surprise myself at how I can change.

To want a pure heart.
To reject anything that endangers it.

To lead, motivate, encourage, and challenge everyone around me.
To do it as a servant.

To give glory to God through creative and artistic living.
To never abuse my freedom.

To know the heart of God.
To have mine match.

About Me

About Me

Retro-identity idea: define yourself by magazines. Me? Wired. Paste. Atlantic Monthly. Discipleship Journal. Or this: For ten years I've worked as a leadership coach, spiritual director, and free agent missionary with Great Commission Ministries on its mission to reach the next generation

I currently serve as the Communications Strategist for GCM, helping train and equip church planters, campus missionaries , and other missional leaders. My area of curiosity is the impact of an information society on Christian theology, especially a doctrine of scripture. Does text messaging modify our view of the Trinity? Oh yeah, and I'm inexcusably addicted to breakfast diners.

Most recent outpost: Orlando, FL. My city: Chicago. My home: Champaign, IL
